Amid the sounds of a buzzing woodworking studio, the Kingston-based non-profit invited us to tell a story about more than building a boat. It is about building community. The hero verite short film follows Place Corps participants through the process of construction through graduation, revealing how hands-on craft becomes a vessel for purpose, learning, and belonging.

Supporting shorts highlight individual voices: youth discovering new skills, moments from an emotional program ceremony, and the Hudson Valley landscape that holds it all. Together, the films celebrate connection to place, the power of making, and the quiet transformation that happens when young adults build something meaningful side by side.
